"The practice questions were incredibly accurate and very similar to what I needed for the test—many topics weren't even in my CNA textbook. Did I mention I passed my state board exam with an excellent score?"

Common Questions We Always Get
Member of a healthcare team questions are usually about scope of practice and who you report to. These FAQs help you spot the safest CNA answer fast.
What does “member of a healthcare team” cover on the CNA exam?
Scope of practice, the chain of command, reporting and recording, and how CNAs communicate with the nurse, other staff, residents, and families.
Who does a CNA report to?
The nurse (RN or LPN) supervising your assignment. Report changes, refusals, and unsafe conditions to that nurse first, not to the family or another aide.
What is the difference between reporting and recording?
Reporting is telling the nurse verbally, right away. Recording is documenting what you observed in the chart. Anything urgent gets reported first, then recorded.
What tasks are outside a CNA’s scope of practice?
Anything requiring nursing judgment: giving medications, inserting or removing tubes, performing sterile procedures, or explaining a diagnosis, treatment, or prognosis to a resident or family. If a task is not in your training or your assignment, ask the nurse.
What should a CNA do if asked to perform a task they were not trained to do?
Decline politely and tell the nurse. Performing a task outside your training is unsafe and outside your legal scope, even if another staff member asks you to do it.
What observations should always be reported to the nurse?
Anything new, worsening, abnormal, or unsafe: changes in vital signs, skin, appetite, behavior, pain, or level of consciousness, plus any fall, refusal of care, or complaint.
Who else is on the healthcare team besides nurses and CNAs?
Physicians, therapists (physical, occupational, speech), dietitians, social workers, and activities staff, along with the resident and their family. The resident is the center of the team.
What is the biggest “trap” in these questions?
Answers where the CNA acts alone: explaining test results, changing the care plan, or handling a problem without telling the nurse. The safest answer almost always involves reporting to the nurse.
How many questions are on this practice test?
This quiz includes 20 multiple-choice questions.
Can I take this practice test on my phone?
Yes. The quiz works on mobile, tablet, and desktop.
Is there a time limit?
No, complete it at your own pace.
