Common Questions We Always Get
Restorative care questions are about safety, independence, and sticking to the care plan. These notes help you choose the CNA answer fast.
What restorative skills topics show up most on the CNA exam?
Range of motion, ambulation, safe transfers, proper positioning, adaptive equipment, fall prevention, and encouraging safe independence.
What is restorative care in a nursing facility?
It is care aimed at maintaining or improving function. Caregivers should give cues, set up equipment, offer the least help needed, and report changes instead of taking over.
Which aging changes matter most for restorative care questions?
Decreased strength, slower reflexes, reduced balance, and stiff joints affect walking and ADLs. Allow time, offer rest, and watch for dizziness.
When should I stop range of motion exercises?
Stop if the resident experiences pain or if you feel resistance or unusual movement. Support the limb, keep them comfortable, and report to the nurse.
What is the CNA role during ambulation practice?
Stay close behind the resident, keep the path clear, use a gait belt if ordered, and watch for fatigue. Sit them if needed and notify the nurse if you notice pain or unusual fatigue
What is the difference between active and passive ROM?
Active ROM is done by the resident. Passive ROM is done by you, moving the joint while supporting it and avoiding force.
What are the most common device-safety mistakes on restorative questions?
Wrong height adjustment, cluttered pathways, forgetting non-skid footwear, not using the ordered device, and rushing transfers without checking the resident’s stability first. Do not proceed if there is a safety concern.
What is the biggest trap in restorative care questions?
Picking the option where the caregiver completes the task the fastest but does everything for the resident. The best answer supports independence and follows the care plan while keeping them safe.
How should I use this practice test for faster improvement?
Take it once untimed, review every missed rationale, then retake it 24–48 hours later. Your goal is fewer safety errors and fewer “scope” mistakes, not just a higher score.
Can I print these questions or study offline?
You can study on any device, but the quiz is designed for online use so you can get feedback and track what you miss. If you want offline study, use the missed-question notes you make after each attempt.
Is the premium trial required?
No. Premium is optional. The free practice set is complete on its own, the premium just unlocks more questions and more sets.
